5 best free things to do in San Francisco
Although San Francisco is an expense city, there are a ton of free things you can do on your next visit. These are some of my favorites!
Free Museum days - there are several museums in SF and most offer free days.
The Asian Art museum - free the first Sunday of the month.
Conservatory of Flowers - free the first Tuesday of every month.
SF Museum of Modern Art - free the first Thursday of the month for Bay Area residents
SF Botanical Gardens - second Tuesday of every month. Free for SF residents everyday
Legion of Honor - free every Saturday for Bay Area residents
Bonfire at Ocean Beach - Ocean beach allows bonfires form March to October. If you’re visiting SF with a group, it’s definitely worth doing a bonfire together and catching the sunset. It gets very chilly near the water so be sure to wear layers!
Golden Gate Park Events - GGP has events throughout the year which are free to the public. Past events have ranged from opera in the park, rollerblading parties, swing dancing, and much more! Be sure to check out the SF Parks and Recreation website for the latest free events happening during your visit.
Walk at Crissy Field - One of my favorite places in the city is Crissy Field. I love going here on a Sunday morning, grabbing a coffee, and taking in the view. On Sundays, there’s also a Fort Mason farmers market which is just next to Crissy Field. You can grab a coffee and a coffee from the market and take in the scenrey during your visit!
Movies in the park - Every summer, San Francisco Parks and Recs hosts free move afternoons which are held in the city’s parks. The schedule is listed out in the SF Parks and Rec website. You can bring your own snacks and have a relaxing afternoon during your visit.
